What a Life

I remembered 10 years ago when someone asked me if I have free time to come over to their party. Having a good food and movies with them, and my answers always 'YES'. Now I bet everyone (especially those in my range of age..lol) will gives this unanimous answer 'BUSY'. The response is almost programmed and without thinking. I must admit that 'busy' has been my response for years now..sighs. Come to think again, how did we all of sudden find ourselves in a society where busy was the most acceptable way to be spending time?

Few days ago while having a quick coffee with friend (but it turned to long conversation hehe), we've talked about being busy. This happened when she thanked me for meeting on such short notice by saying "I can't believed you could make time for me with how busy you must be". Am I that busy? Well everyone assumes everyone is so busy. Through the conversation, we realized that we forgot being busy was never a goal. We are not live to be busy. God has created such a wonderful place for us to stay, build a relationship, experience life, go places and create moments, help others or anything our heart desired.

I have a feeling that none of us feel we are here to be busy. I do not believe being busy is worth of time because sometimes we might get caught up being busy doing worthless things. Life in this business world sadly has trained us this way as employee which expected to put in 8-12 hours of work a day. But since I 'must' seem busy, I fill the time with Facebook, chatting, web surfing or any other online life. This is not helping me to connect with others...not in a healthy way. I come to realized that busy is simply state of mind which causes more stress, unhappiness and wasted energy. Luckily, I convert it all by being socially active in church. Helping the parish and parishioners in all way I can. The gifts that I received from Almighty are meant to be shared with this community even though I received much of negatives comments (or should I say 'gossip') from some peoples. I have to accept in this crooked world, there is no perfect word/things can satisfied people especially in the unhealthy state of minds.

I think to enjoyed the weight that gets lifted our back is by changing our focus and not to be too busy to serve our purpose. I have full schedule this past few months and I mapped out my calendar to be sure it all fit without realized I'm putting myself in that 'caught up situation' again..sigh. Life can never be too busy for the things that matter most to you. If you don't have time for those, the busywork or life won't matter anyway. I am done being busy. Someone have to remind me.. everytime. I need to be alarmed about this..lol. How I wished to have a button that can trigger level of busyness to the normal and easy life. Hope someone can invent this so that 'busy' is no longer my response to life..just saying..hahahaa.

Keep Moving..

My previous post talked about ‘fly again’. Well, I went for my Master convocation at PWTC. Spend few days in Kuala Lumpur do some shopping and sightseeing. I utilized my times to recover from tiredness, busyness and routines of life. Some people might think I overdo myself by studying while working full time. But I have my own purposes.. Nobody can take that from me…hehehee. I still have few papers to finish but in different course.. well life is experimental and learning time never stop right?. Hope I can finished it by next coming year ^-^. I get used with busy life and I’m trying hard not to burden myself with all the negatives thinking of others. After all, it is my road. Nobody can walk it for me.

I have promised myself to live my life to the fullest by embrace it in every corner of my life. Whatever storms, turmoil or windy road along the journey, I’ll do my best to keep moving forward. Others see me as a beautiful and cheerful creature while deep inside I crawled my life to the best. I do believe everyone have their own road to walk on. It’s only matter how we walked with it.

Have a blessed day ahead..

My Thought For You

First day of the week..yes it is Monday. I used to called it Monday blues without truly understand what 'blues' was about. Commonly blues means melancholy and sadness..hey wait a minute...stop there!!. I do feel stressed on Monday and the rest of the weekday too. But I'm not sad and melancholy.. so I should not called it Monday Blues right??..lol. I prefer to fill my mind with positive and good thinking and for that I present you my big yellow smile..

And friend.. thank you for not hating me. I know.. I'm very busy lately almost 'invisible' from friendship cycle..but you still choose me to be your friend.. :)

Ahahahaa.. a words to ponder...

That's all for now friend..my little thoughts for you this week... again I'm going to rolling deep into my routine.... and dreams too...fly high...

Gloomy Friday...

It’s a beautiful sunny Friday but somehow I feel so gloomy inside. Been overly busy this past few weeks and that’s why I’m not able to update my blogs. Routine works especially by month end and with all the ISO stuff’s flooded my mind, checking and signing of papers and there are even time my right arm aching due to over use and my eyes are burning as I focus too much on screen. I might have to defocus and exercise my eyes to every now and then. My brains feel so exhausted due to too much thinking in finishing my thesis but somehow it shuttered when comes to papers..sigh!!

But I feel a bit excited as weekend is coming even though I know I’ll be busy with church thingy. But first of all, I’m going to spend Saturday morning with my nephew as I’ve promised to him to have a meal at MCD otherwise he will keep complaining and buzzing around me hehehee…. then a time for me to catch up with the thesis.

How I wish…. I’m in a place with a green, serene with a cold breeze touch me in a morning, a sweet sound of birds with aromatic of woods kiss me in a afternoon and a beautiful sunset smile me at evening...

Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend guys…

Its My Life..

Almost a month did not update my blog..sigh..

Tense is around me at this moment. Sometimes I can’t think anything but sleep and have a good sip of coffee. Everyday waiting for weekend to come by hoping it will be a relaxing weekend. I do enjoy the weekend but I was too tired to enjoy it. All I want is a good foods and body pampering. Juggling with work, study and social/church activities make me want to give up..lol. Luckily I’m not a type of person that gives up too early. Don’t blame me for become so ambitious..hehehe.

People always asked me why I make my life so difficult and not enjoying more as how others woman do. I understand their perspective. For them, that ought to be enough, especially for a woman. A woman should not aim too high otherwise she might end up on the shelves. However, I beg to differ. Times have changed, and I ought to think more realistically. A challenge for woman at these eras is different. The demands for multi-skilled individual are increasing. More than ever before, basic certs cannot take you anywhere and we have to continue building up to keep up with times and stay relevant. Tough still, we still have to continue learning throughout our working life in order to keep up with the increasing demands of our professions. Its forced us to upgrades skills and knowledge to move forward.

Friends often ask me how I juggle the stress of studying with the demands of being a full-time employee. I don’t have an answer because sometimes I totally can’t use my own personal organizer!! And that’s delaying my progress. At this point some of the ‘birds’ out there will start singing and laughing looking at me. Who care!! I live and drive my own life. I always whispered to myself ‘there is always a way to overcome it’. Yeah.. if God allowed U-Turn why Can’t I? LOL… Yet, some of my friends often find it hard to accept my incredibly hectic routine. To them, I have no life! Some of them worried. But, unfortunately this is something that many in my generation have to live with for careers to progress.

Life must go on..handle it with faith..

Then work..work.. and work. Ok we are in the middle of the week and I know most of us feel exhausted like me..hehhee.. Let us take a break and play with our mind. I received this email and wanted to share with all of you. Look too familiar to you? have received it before? Don’t bother la.. Just try to ease your mind hehehe..

A moment of Thought

I would like to say that I’m going a bit far this few months. I've joined and involved few things that catch my eyes and cross my mind. Meet a few new friends from my MBA classes and feel glad about it. Since our course are almost over, we joined a Toastmaster meeting (haven’t decide to become a member), SPA and going out together. It makes our friendship growing. I feel funny for what happened at the Toastmaster meeting (luckily we just a guest..lol!). I was surprised because there were officers, evaluators, timers, grammarian, ah counter to ‘judge’ you while you doing your presentation. I can see how shaking they are especially for the first time member who’s making and delivering speech. It is a non-profit organization with an aimed to help professionals develop public speaking and leadership skills. Quite interesting but I'm not ready to be judge yet hehhee..once I earn my confidence then I'll give a try and of course by becoming a member first.

Making new friends are great opportunity to me. I learned a lot and help me to change a point of view towards daily lives. Some of my new friends are entrepreneur and these give me some idea to dig out and develop more from myself. I received good advices and help me opened a new way to so called ‘urged to change myself’. I really amazed for what they have achieved and some of them are in my age!! Well, I might not good in finding the resources but this idea gives a driving-forced to me to look for it.

Have you all heard about JCI (Junior Chamber Industries)? One of my friends invites me to join their group. I goggled about JCI and found that this organization is under NGO and funded from banks and other societies. It’s all about to create a positive change, a challenges through local developments using strategic and critical planning for creative solutions towards communities and so on. I saw a lot of events and programs run by JCI and mostly helping the communities to face the challenges in world locally and globally. I’m interested in the purposes of this organization because it’s all about ‘serving’ and some more this are non-profit organization. Still thinking about it..lol.

To achieve a balance life is not easy and I admit it’s difficult. However, it is not impossible to achieve it. I play roles as full time worker, student, and free spirit ‘young-single mum’ (hehhehee…don’t laugh at me!!) and mingling around too. Sit in an office for 8-10hours, back home to the daily housework’s, struggling with my assignment/thesis, get prepared for coming exam of ACCA (huh.. thinking to hold this exam) this and that club members and fulfilling ‘my own’ time..lol.

Well, it’s just a moment of thought recalling what I’ve been through in these few months. As a wise people said ‘Every change offers an opportunity’.

By the way, how is your Hari Raya? I’m not going out much this festive season. Only pay visits to my sister and father house and have some Hari Raya moments with them. Well, of course ‘tapau’ some Hari Raya delicacies hehehhe…. I have to watch out my cholesterol level. So dramatic, high cholesterol with only 46kgs hahahha…

How are You....

Suddenly, I like buying clothes, shoes, bag and accessories. In the past, I never cared for what I wore; a tee and a pair of old jeans would be ok for me. But it’s nice to care about our looks and it’s really creative to use different colors and materials to create a unique look that expresses our personality and our inner world. It’s an art!! (I get used with this phrase.. somebody taught me… :)) and I like playing with colors and altering my clothes to create a funky and grow up look…lol. Emm.. I guess it’s just a feeling to take better care of myself, make some changes in my appearance, easy going, less anxious and be more positive.

Now I understand why some woman adored this Cleo, Vogue, Woman and etc magazine as their ‘bible’ hehehehe…. (coz I’m starting buying it too..). I guess, I really took the ‘advise’ of this mag’s. It’s proven by a bundle of clothes and ‘coloring thingy’ at my wardrobe now… I just don’t know when I’m going to wear that.. hehehhe. I feel good after doing it. Well… I need to planned carefully the worthiness of the spending.. don’t want to run out $$$$... debt free.

I’m slowly getting back to my daily rituals and routines after months of resentment. It’s great to be back in my comfort zone after such a long time away from ‘myself’. I realized that time away has helped me to take life differently, shifted my focus and give me several ‘aha and wow’ moments to ponder. Well I guess, I’m in a making of recreating the new me… lol.

My life kind a too routine which makes me feels lazy and ‘dizzy’ at the same time. So I borrowed a bunch of novels from library, lock myself in a room with Pringles, hot coffee, a warm comforter and start a reading session along with Vonda Shepard playlist over and over again. I used this method to indulge myself especially on weekend night. I love doing this few years ago and I stopped when busy life chasing me. Not to say I’m not busy now, but the words of busy make dizzier so I changed it to routine… hehehehe.

Happy July to all of you… here Pringles from me… lol...

SCHOOL LIFE..

Have you ever think how many years of school or studying time in our lives???? Let me make the simple and short summary based on my knowledge and experiences..

After 6 years of primary education (primary 1 to 6), we will proceed our education in another level, which is the secondary level.

We will be spending 5 years in this level (6 years for those in probation class). The 5 years can be divided into 2 parts, which is the lower secondary (Form 1 - Form 3) and higher secondary (Form 4 - Form 5).

After completed 5 or 6 years in secondary school, some of us took (optional) Form 6 studies, which will last for another 2 years (lower and upper) to prepare for STPM, the entry towards local or oversea universities.

Life spending in Universities can add up to 3-5 years (diploma to degree level) depending on the major that we took. If we keen enough and forward to the higher level (Master) add another 2 years.

Summaries: Primary school 6 years, secondary 6 or 8 years (consider the probation class and form 6), Universities 7 years totaling to 20 to 21 years!!

Even though there is a quote saying ‘life is a journey of learning’ but 20 YEARS bound in education rules sound doesn’t make sense right??… what do you think??

Where Have I Been...?

Took leave from work..again..my bos surely doesnt like this.. hehehhee.... but he cannot do anything as I've quite a number of leave from previous year. And this what I'm doing... huhuu.. make me more stressed and exhausted

Searched for tips.. scoring.. analyze.. huhuuu...this is the prize I've to pay on 'last minute' revision.. hoping for some miracle...

Making the most of it... evaluate..appraised ... what is this?

At last... almost giving up... but wont surrender till it end... that is the spirit but where's the hope? huhuuuu...

This is the difficulties I faced for this past few years.. balance of work, study and life.. my work demand 70% of my time... I've a spirit of gold but never get enough.. which part that I failed?

Someone give me a tips on this... One thing I wonder about myself is.. I keep holding the 'goal' that I make 10 years ago... hehehhee... although this is a toughest way to live with....

But.. I praise Lord coz I've found somebody who really can 'push' me into my dreams again.. the dreams which leave behind for quite sometime.. thanks to him.. together pursuing the dreams.. never too late to ammend something.. hehehehehe... wish me luck for the 'battle' again...

Made me a meal and threw it on upon Sunday
I've gotta a lot of things to learn
Said I would and I'll be leaving one day
Before my hearts start to burn

So whats the matter with you
Sing me something new..dont you know?
The cold and wind and rain dont know
They only seem to come and go away

Times a hard when the things have got no meaning
I've found the key upon the floor
Maybe you and I will not believe in the things we find
Behind the door

Stand by me - nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me - nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me - nobody knows the way it's gonna be

If you're leaving will you take me with you
I'm tired of talking on my phone
There is one thing I can never give you
My heart can never be your home

Somehow.. somewhere..I've touched by these lyrics.. really represent how I feel now..

It's Time to Wake Up and Change

Change can be difficult for most people. But in order to be happy we have to become better. And becoming better involves change. So, why you afraid to change? Anything that is alive grows and changes constantly. Only dead things cease to grow. Don’t be afraid to change. You may lose something good, but you may gain something even better’

I still remembered this speech given by one of the priest (cant remembered the name.. ^_^… hehehe sorry) during the homily few months ago. It’s keep tangling me till this day. I know that I need to do something but I keep procrastinate it. I keep telling myself that any intention to change and get out from my comfort zone will be better instead of waiting and watching. But I don’t have a gut to do it. Excuses, complaining, blaming, comparing make me feel safe to stay in my comfort zone.

But for these past few days, I have a little faith to do it. Why know I realize it? Hehehhehe… maybe because I afraid to change and lose something in return? Emm..maybe…hahaha. I feel motivated when my big bos pay a visit at my workplace for few days and give a lot of inspiring words for us to keep change and grow. Thanks for it. At least he do give me ‘something’ to make my move. Change, move and grow….

My Bad Day..

Emm..this is what I get since being busy for a month. Busy with workloads, busy with my exam, busy with my church activities and busy with my own personal things. Additional with some irritating attitude of friends, unacceptable act and words..fuuuhh..really make me sick. Hopefully I'll get over it in ASAP. I've taken a leave from my works just for few days but in a last minutes they asked me to cancelled!! luckly I dont have enough strength to fight. Further I'm a good employee..hhhehe..I know my responsibility and commitment that I have to contribute in this season of time. At least they agreed to let me choose another day to replace it. Well..I need to fully utilized my leave next week..for 2 days only huhuuu..to prepared myself to enter the exam hall. I'm tired of this but I'm too ambitious and once I set my goal not easy for me to break it. One of my weaknesses hehehhe..and one of my strength too..
Maybe I can called this is my bad day too..why? In this season of time, I keep sick a lot..fever,flu,dizzy, migrain, cant sleep well, vomitting (the simptom of stress). And I dont care about my look now. My hair looks like melting plastic..eeewwhh.. panda's eye..huhuuu..pale..dont want to say more la...hehehehhe

To Look Busy and Important

My friends always asked me..why Im always look busy and sometimes looks like a zombi. I'm telling them a truth that I'm really busy..I hope that I can have work without strange stress. I'm really stress until I cant sleep well at night!!. Am I pretending? not at all..huhuuu..believe me..why I can keep blogging even I'm busy? hehehhehe..thats the way how I chill out dude..hehhehehe. Okey, my friends asked me..how to look 'busy' so that they can feel how I feel now..(so good they have plenty a time at their works..) . Lets try this..hehehhehee..for those my 'geng karas' there..pandai2lah kamu main peranan..hehehehe.

Walk with 'baggage'

If we walk with documents looks like we are hardworking and headed to important meetings. Walk with ear phone and keep talking while your hand busy tackling your Ipod show that you are rushing for something greatly important. To show everybody how busy you are, then carry of office stuff to home with you at night, thus generating the false impression that you work longer hours than you really do.

Computer is the best buddy

Whoever spends a lot time at the computer, it looks like "work" to the casual observer. You can send and receive personal e-mail, chat and have a blast without doing anything remotely related to work. These aren't exactly the societal benefits that the proponents of the computer revolution would like to talk about, but they're not bad either. But if you get caught by your boss -- and you will get caught -- your best defense is to claim you're teaching yourself to use new software, thus save a cost of training. Hehhehehee…

Table with junks

Build huge piles of documents around your workspace. To the observer, last year's work looks the same as today's work; it's volume that counts. Pile them high and wide. If you know somebody is coming to your cubicle, bury the document you'll need halfway down in an existing stack and rummage for it when he/she arrives. Then they know how busy you are. Try to bury your fixed line phone in the piles of the documents. And when its ringing..ask them to help you to find it..wakakakkkaa

Make sure your phone keep ringing till reach to mail box

Never answer your phone if you have voice mail. People don't call you just because they want to give you something for nothing -- they call because they want YOU to do work for THEM. That's no way to live. Screen all your calls through voice mail. If somebody leaves a message for you and it sounds like impending work, respond during lunch hour when you know they're not there -- it looks like you're hardworking and conscientious even though you're being a devious weasel.

Show your impatient attitude

Show your colleagues and bosses that you are always in ‘rush’

Don’t walk home early

Always leave the office late, especially when the boss is still around. You could read magazines and storybooks that you always wanted to read. Make sure you walk past the boss' room on your way out. If you got nothing to do then, go blogging hehehehe

Sigh…!!

Sigh loudly when there are many people around, giving the impression that you are under extreme pressure.

Full use your work space

It is not enough to pile lots of documents on the table. Put lots of books or file on the floor and make no way for others to go in. Let them think twice to enter your space…hehhehehe

It's all crap only..better dont do it go and spend your time for something you like..hehhehehe...I wish I could do the same hehehehhe...pretending busy..huhuuuuu...I cant sleep..stress maybe..exam is nearer..workload is heat..oh no no..no..

Study While Workings

I found this from 'Chapman study skills'. Might be useful for those who are sitting for the coming exam like me..hehhee..till now pun belum start lagi. How la this..

CREATING A STUDY ENVIRONMENT

1. Find a place to study and keep it for study only.
2. Gather together all materials needed for studying
3. Control noise level and the visual environment to acceptable levels.
4. Avoid relaxing while working, create a work atmosphere. When you take a break, leave your
study place, then come back to work.

  WHEN TO STUDY

1. Determine your "up" times. You may be a "morning person" or an "evening  person."
    Hehhehe..me an afternoon person time.
2. Study when there are the fewest competing activities in progress.
3. Study is most effective when adequate rest periods are provided.
4. Stop studying when fatigue or lack of attention occurs.

  HOW TO STUDY AND CONCENTRATE

1. When distractions are present, "tune them out," become intensely focused on your project.
2. Keep a pad of paper handy and jot down extraneous thoughts that cross your mind while
studying, get them out of your mind and onto paper.
3. Set study goals before you begin each period of study (number of pages, number of problems
     and etc)
4. Give yourself adequate rewards after specific goals are attained.
5. Break up the monotony of study by changing the order of the subjects you study.
6. Make the most of rest period do something quite different.
7. Don’t try to mix work and play.
8. Start with short study periods and slowly build to longer periods only as fast as you maintain
    concentration.
9. If necessary, make a calender of events to clear your mind of distractions.
10. Realize that you won’t lose friends, respect, or a "good time" just because of your studying.
11. Plan the length of your study period by the amount of material you decided to cover, not by
the clock  (Often the clock can be a serious distraction.)

Stress at Work?

How to Deal with it..maybe this point can help us to manage our stress at work.
Unfortunately, work stress has significant health consequences that range from the relatively benign -- more colds and flus -- to the more serious, heart disease and metabolic syndrome
Because stress at work is so common, finding a low-stress job may be difficult or impossible for many people. A more realistic choice would be to simple adopt more effective strategies to reduce stress at work. Here are some stress management techniques to try.

Start Your Day Off Right
After scrambling to get the kids fed and off to school, dodging traffic and combating road rage and gulping down coffee in lieu of something healthy, many people come in already stressed, and more reactive to stress at work. In fact, you may be surprised by how much more reactive to stress you are when you have a stressful morning. If you start off the day with good nutrition, proper planning, and a positive attitude, you may find the stress of the workplace rolling off your back more easily
Be Clear on Requirements
One of the factors that contribute to job burnout is unclear requirements. If you don’t know exactly what’s expected of you, or if the requirements keep changing with little notice, you may find yourself much more stressed than necessary. If you find yourself falling into the trap of never knowing if what you’re doing is enough, it may help to have a talk with your supervisor and go over expectations, and strategies for meeting them. This can relieve stress for both of you!

Stay Away From Conflict
Because interpersonal conflict takes a toll on your physical and emotional health, and because conflict among co-workers is so difficult to escape, it’s a good idea to avoid conflict at work as much as possible. That means don’t gossip, don’t share too many of your personal opinions about religion and politics, and try to avoid those people at work who don’t work well with others.

Stay Organized
Even if you’re a naturally disorganized person, planning ahead to stay organized can greatly decrease stress at work. Being organized with your time means less rushing in the morning to avoid being late and rushing to get out at the end of the day.

Be Comfortable
Another surprising stressor at work is physical discomfort. You may not notice the stress you experience when you’re in an uncomfortable chair for a few minutes. But if you practically live in that chair when you’re at work, you can have a sore back and be more reactive to stress because of it. Even small things like office noise can be distracting and cause low-grade frustration. Do what you can to ensure that you’re working from a quiet, comfortable and soothing workspace

Forget Multitasking
Multitasking was once heralded as a fantastic way to maximize one’s time and get more done in a day. Then people started realizing that when they had a phone in their ear and were making calculations at the same time, their speed and accuracy (not to mention sanity) suffered. There is a certain kind of frazzled feeling that comes from splitting one’s focus that doesn’t work well for most people.

Walk at Lunch
Many people are feeling ill effects from leading a sedentary lifestyle. One way you can combat that, and manage stress at work at the same time, is to get some exercise during your lunch break and perhaps take short exercise breaks throughout the day. This can help you blow off steam, lift your mood, and get into better shape.

Keep Perfectionism In Check
Being a high achiever can help you feel good about yourself and excel at work. Being a perfectionist, on the other hand, can drive you and the people around you little nuts. Especially in busy, fast-paced jobs, you may not be able to do everything perfectly. But striving to just do your best and then congratulating yourself on the effort is a good strategy. Your results will actually be better (perfectionists tend to stress about little mistakes and sometimes drop the ball because they can’t do things well enough), and you’ll be much less stressed at work

Listen to Music on the Drive Home
Listening to music brings many benefits, and can offer an effective way to relieve stress after work. Combating the stress of a long day at work with your favorite music on the drive home can make you less stressed when you get home, and more prepared to interact with the people in your life.

Work isn't always going to be easy. Every job offers its challengers like odd hours, demanding customers or bosses, irritating sounds, annoying collegues and etc. Unfortunately, there are more stressful issues that can make having to go to work feel like a job in itself and we call it 'for the job'. But you are able to minimise stress and you may need up enjoying your job that much more.
Challenge: Finding time for homework. Balancing the time you need for schools with the hours
you're paid to work can be tough.
Handle it: If you're feeling overwhelmed, dont panic. Simply speak with your boss and try to
adjust your hours. Remember job come and go, but an education lasts a lifetime
Challenge: Gossiping, rumor-spreading co-workers (girls remember..!! hahaha)
Handle it: You dont want to contribute to the war of the words, so, to put a stop to the chatter,
tell them their behaviour is inappropriate and you wont participate.
Challenge: Sexual harrasment. It can be a touch, a comment or suggestion.
Handle it: Confront the person immediately, if you dont step up, he/she may do it again or do
it to someone else. If the harrasment persists, report it to your supervisor or the
proper authorities. Remember if someone is paying u unwanted or innappropriate
attention, it should not be tolerated.
Challenge: Dating in the workplace (hehehee..). People who work with you may feel
uncomfortable and resent your relationship in the long run.
Handle it: Keep things as queit as possible (even when you talk through intercom..hehehehe)
and keep all flirty business under wraps until you clock out...(wakakakkaaa)
So frens, do you think you can do that? hehehehe
